Men Are Trash
I have been seeing you a lot on TV lately in the debates and discussion regarding women empowerment and believe me you are doing an amazing work and I wish you all the best for it.
However,what prompted me to write you was that since busy life does not let you use social media you may not be aware of the huge number of fans you have amassed and how these fans have probably mistaken what you stand for.
Most of your fans on social media are using ,overusing or abusing the use of the phrase "Men are Trash". I am not writing you this because this offends me but how this is working against the goal you have in mind. As soon as an incident happens where culprit is a man and victim a woman this phrase starts doing rounds of internet like electrons bouncing around in a metal.
If you have not already understood it then I will tell you what is wrong with this logic of blaming this quality of men being trash.
It presents an idea that no matter what ,men- all of them are dangerous wild animals,or lunatics doing rounds of the streets and the best thing to do will be to stay indoors in a self imposed curfew. How is this fear mongering going to empower women. It creates an idea, evolutionarily speaking,that women are meant to be subjugated.
Or the other idea that men are dangerous so like nuclear weapons all of them should be disarmed. It is like saying we should bomb all the Muslims because few of them happen to be suidice bombers. However,this solution won't work because no one would want their fathers,brothers,sons or even husbands to be killed.
Going by this slogan of "men are trash" leaves us with no solution at all which you should try to convey to your fans in clear terms. The question that it leaves us with is what is the problem then? Maybe the problem is not specifically with men. Maybe there is a bigger issue that needs attention. Let us consider rape. Why do men rape? Why not Women? Of all the answers let us focus on the fact that men need sex. Please don't jump to the any conclusions like I am justifying a henious crime because someone has a need to fulfill. It is not even a need which can't be fulfilled other ways. But it is similar to other desires that human beings have. To give a few examples
A clerk wants to buy new LED TV.
An engineer wants a new phone.
A girl wants a handbag or shoes she can't afford or can afford if you remember your friend Imrat? Sorry to have refreshed the awkward memories you want to forget.
These are all desires. Even though with a bit of saving or EMI they can fulfill their wants ,but no. The clerk will use pressure tactics to get a percentage of the pension of a senior citizen for his LED.
The engineer will endanger lives for a phone in collaboration with the contractors who in turn wants to earn a few more bucks than his due.
And Imrat, your friend ,she could even afford that handbag yet she chose to shoplift it.
How does rape fit here is what you're thinking. It means irrespective of what gender we have people in general have resorted to illegitimate means to achieving their desires. The problem is not with desires but the ways they use to achieve them. People don't understand the idea of ownership that somethings don't belong to us but to someone else.
That we have no right over what belongs to someone else. That we have to work hard not steal or cheat to have what others have.How to politely ask people for things if we want something from them. All these ethics, morals, principles have been forgotten.
Truth is not just man but the entire human race has become trash.
The dire need is to reintroduce and nurture the good values in the world or a time will come when people instead of asking anyone why they murdered will instead ask people why don't they kill.
